Watercolor on Vellum
The pattern of this painting is from a Victorian wedding dress found in an old box in the barn of my homestead in Roscoe, Montana. The painting was placed in front of a large glass window emulating stained glass within the entry of the installation conjuring the familiar yet haunting feeling inside the Catholic churches of my childhood. Using the delicately hand sewn pattern of woman’s genitalia, I attempt to re-envision places of worship that will honor and worship the Mother and the Divine Feminine.
