When Mourning first walked on to her back porch, she envisioned a wall made up of feathers. Though Mourning had collected feathers since she was a little girl, a box was not going to suffice an eleven foot wall. She went across the Golden Gate Bridge into her favorite land on the planet and went about collecting baskets of feathers during a week long molting season in the Marin Headlands. Each feather was cleaned and then woven into pink burlap.
